Jowhar, SONNA – The Ministry of Defence (MoD) has issued a statement expressing its deep regret over the unfortunate incident that occurred near Jowhar airport on Friday, November 3, 2023. The incident involved a clash between the Somali National Army (SNA) and some local residents, resulting in several casualties and injuries.
The MoD has assured that it is fully empathetic with the victims and their families and that it will conduct a thorough investigation through the SNA and the Armed Forces Court. The MoD has also promised that any misconduct will be met with swift justice and that the honour of the Army remains intact in defending Somalia.
