Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change applauded and thanked the Elwaq community for their vital role in reporting the deforestation activities and the SNA for arresting the individuals involved in the illegal tree cutting.
βWe urge all citizens to support our efforts in protecting the environment and to heed security warnings against deforestation. Together, we can safeguard our natural resources,β Minister of Environment, Mrs. Khadija Mohamed Al-Makhzoumi said.
The Federal Government of Somalia commends the Somali Armed Forces for their successful operation on July 28th in Elwaq, Gedo region, which led to the arrest of six individuals involved in illegal tree cutting.
