The Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism, Daud Aweis Jama, met with the head of the Turkish International Cooperation Agency (TIKA) in Somalia, Zafer Eşki, at his office on Wednesday.
The two officials discussed the ongoing cooperation between their countries in the areas of media, culture and tourism development. They also reviewed the progress of the projects that TIKA is supporting at the Ministry of Information, such as the archive, the Somali National TV, Radio Mogadishu and the Somali National News Agency (SONNA).
Minister Jama expressed his gratitude to TIKA and the Turkish government for their generous assistance to Somalia over the years. He said that the Somali people and government appreciate the strong friendship and partnership with Turkey and its people.
Eşki, on his behalf, reaffirmed TIKA’s commitment to enhancing its collaboration and support with Somalia. He praised the efforts of the Ministry of Information in promoting the positive image and culture of Somalia.
