Marking 78th Anniversary of Somali Youth League Day

Mogadishu(SONNA)-The 78th anniversary of the Somali Youth League on Saturday marked in the capital Mogadishu and throughout the country while remembering the youth’s role of unity, and struggle for independence.

Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E. Mohamed Hussein Roble congratulated the youth on this great day of 15th May, noting that his Government would give priority to youth.

“Somali Government acknowledges the importance of the Somali youth and gives them special priority to the development of the youth by strengthening their participation in politics and leadership”, The Prime Minister said in a statement.

Hamza Sa’id Hamaza, Minister for Youth and Sports congratulated the youth on the Somali Youth League, reminding today’s youth were educated than those in the era before the independence, in particular, the 13 members of the youth.

He urged the youth to take a leading role as the youth is 75 percent of Somali population.

The Somali Youth League was established on May 15, 1943
