Mogadishu(SONNA)-Minister of Justice of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Hassan Hussein said Tuesday that they’re probing the deadly incident inside Mogadishu Prison where the prison guards and prisoners fought for hours on Monday afternoon, SONNA reported.
“Some inmates in the prison did a criminal act by getting weapon and the fought with the prison guards, causing casualties of death and injuries. We’re examining the case and he who is found guilt of facilitating for the inmates to get weapons, would be accountable”, Mr. Hussein said in televised speech.
Mr. Hussein added the Security forces arrested some prisoners including injured ones who were involved in the incident, noting that it caused casualties of both criminals and the prison guards during the operation.
At least 15 of those fighting inside the prison, killed, seven others injured and arrested five others in Mogadishu Prison according to the officials. Four Prison guards were also killed and another one injured in the deadly incident.
