Jubaland Ministerial Council approves agreement between Ministry of Ports and Maritime transport and a private company

Kismayo (SONNA): Jubaland State President H.E Ahmed Mohamed Islam(Madoby) chaired a meeting of Jubaland’s ministerial council today, SONNA reported.

The meeting was preceded by a briefing by Jubaland’s state President on the overall security situation in the country and the ongoing electoral process.

The Ministry of Health of Jubaland State has reported to the council on the health situation in the region, informing the council about the recent updates regarding COVID-19, and is continuing efforts to raise public awareness to control the spread of the virus.

In addition, Ministry of Livestock has said that the drought-stricken areas of Jubaland region are still affected and various relief efforts are still underway in drought-stricken areas.

The cabinet approved an agreement between Jubaland’s Ministry of Ports and Maritime Transport and a private company, which will invest in the oil reserves located in kismayo’s port to develop the region’s revenue sources.
