Hundred-Year Achievements: A Contribution to Global Community of Shared Future

The year 2021 marks the centenary of the Communist Party of China. The Chinese nation has achieved a tremendous transformation: It has stood up, grown rich, and is becoming strong, offering Chinese wisdom, Chinese approach and Chinese  support power to world peace and development.

This year has witnessed the completion of the work of building a moderately prosperous society in all aspects, a grand historical achievement and a stepping stone to start a new journey towards a modern socialist country and a new stride forward towards national rejuvenation. Chinese economy has transited from rapid growth to high-quality development, and its 2020 GDP has increased to over 100 trillion RMB yuan for the first time, making China the world’s only major economy to have registered positive growth amidst economic recession complicated by Covid-19 pandemic.Socialism with Chinese Characteristics, a systematic unity of CPC leadership, the position of the people as masters of the country and the rule of law, has been a unique and important contribution to human civilization. With long-term stability maintained, world’s largest social security system established and all remaining poor rural residents lifted from poverty, China has found the development path that suits China’s national conditions.

Socialism with Chinese characteristics has entered a new era, a contribution to global community of shared future in itself, presents a brand new choice for countries or nationalities that seek development with independence unhampered.

Party self-governance is one important piece of experience for CPC’s continuous achievements. CPC focuses its efforts on reinforcing the Party’s political foundations, having faith in Marxism, communism and socialism with Chinese characteristics. CPC maintains close ties with and serves the people. CPC enforces discipline in all respects and determines to govern the Party with strict discipline, strengthens checks on and oversight over the exercise of power. CPC improves the oversight systems of the Party and the state, increases  the Party’s ability to cleanse itself, and builds a team for discipline inspection and supervision that is honest, clean, responsible, and loyal to the Party and the people. It is by strengthening the Party’s ability to innovate, power to unite, and energy to fight that building a moderately prosperous society in all aspects and a modern socialist country have been firmly guaranteed.

CPC would like to enhance exchanges with political parties of other countries, including African countries, to share ideas on enhancing party competence and state governance, jointly seize opportunities and pursue common development. With similar fate in the past and a common mission, having extended sympathy to and helped each other throughout all the years, China and Africa have long forged a community of shared future, embarking on a distinctive path of win-win cooperation.

The Chinese side welcomes the African side to seek greater complementarity between China-Africa Belt and Road cooperation and Agenda 2063 of the African Union, the development strategies of African countries and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development of the United Nations. Together, the two sides will work toward a China-Africa community with a shared future that features joint responsibility, win-win cooperation, happiness for all, common cultural prosperity, common security, and harmonious co-existence. The two sides will be guided by the vision of building an even stronger China-Africa community with a shared future, strengthen coordination on policies and mechanisms at the bilateral and multilateral levels, and work for greater synergies in market development, project cooperation and intellectual support, acting as a pacesetter for building a global community of shared future. Noting the profound changes in the global landscape and the complex external environment facing China-Africa relations, the two sides commit themselves to multilateralism and free trade, opposing protectionism and unilateralism, safeguarding the UN-centered international system, thus making greater contribution to world peace and development.
