Mogadishu (SONNA): The Governor of Banadir Region and Mayor of Mogadishu, Mr. Yusuf Hussein Jimale (Madaale), paid a visit to the Turkish Maarif School in the Wabari district today. The school, formerly known as the School of Handicrafts, currently educates 900 students.
During his visit, Governor Madale conducted a thorough inspection of the school’s facilities, including classrooms, the laboratory, the library, and the food department. The Turkish Education Agency, which manages the school, provides daily meals to 3,495 individuals, including students, orphans, and some internally displaced families.
Governor Madale commended the Turkish Maarif Agency for their commitment to providing educational opportunities for Somali children, particularly those from low-income families. He expressed his gratitude for their ongoing charitable efforts in the capital, emphasizing the importance of maintaining and expanding these opportunities.
The visit highlights the collaborative efforts between local authorities and international organizations to enhance educational infrastructure and support vulnerable communities in Mogadishu.
