Istanbul (SONNA) – The First Lady, Zeinab Abdi Moalim, held a meeting as part of the Third Turkey-Africa Cooperation Conference with the First Lady of Turkey, Emine Erdogan, and the First Ladies of African countries who attended the conference.
The Ladies’ Conference focused on global climate change, and discussed plans for Africa and Turkey to work together to tackle global warming, which has had a negative impact on global communities in general, and on women in particular, and babies who are vulnerable to the effects of global climate change.
The First Lady of the Nation, Zeinab Abdi Moalim, highlighted the impact of global climate change on Somalia, noting that the Somali community is experiencing the effects of climate change, which has led to severe drought, hurricanes and floods that contributed negative impact to the livelihoods of Somali society.
The First Ladies of Africa and the First Lady of Turkey agreed to work together to implement the climate, health and social change plans of the Third Turkey-Africa Cooperation Conference.
