Mogadishu (SONNA) — The Minister of Finance of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E Bihi Iman Egeh, today held a productive meeting at the Ministry of Finance headquarters with a high-level delegation from the United Nations.
The delegation included Ms. Shoko Noda, Assistant Secretary-General of the United Nations and Director of the Crisis Bureau, and Mr. Lionel Laurens, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Resident Representative for Somalia.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed ongoing economic developments, particularly the impact of droughts, floods, and climate change, which have had a significant effect on the country’s economy.
They also explored the most effective approaches to strengthening economic resilience and advancing sustainable development projects across the country. The discussions placed special emphasis on enhancing cooperation between the Federal Government of Somalia and UNDP, with both sides underscoring the importance of accelerating development programs and supporting recovery and economic growth efforts.
