Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The Director-General of the Immigration and Nationality Agency, Mustafa Duhulow, held a meeting at his office with diplomats from the Indian Embassy in Nairobi, Kenya. The discussions focused on easing the visa application process for Somali citizens, particularly those traveling to India for medical purposes.
During the meeting, the Indian diplomats provided updates on plans to open an office in Mogadishu, which will serve Somali citizens seeking Indian visas. The initiative aims to streamline the visa issuance process by allowing applicants to access services directly in Mogadishu, eliminating the need to travel to Nairobi or other countries for this purpose.
This development is expected to significantly benefit Somali citizens, many of whom travel to India for medical treatment. The establishment of the visa office in Mogadishu reflects strengthened diplomatic ties between Somalia and India, while also addressing a pressing need for more accessible consular services in the Somali capital.
