On September 20th, 2023, a significant event took place in Yangling, China, where Ambassador Awale Kullane led the delegation of Horn of Africa Ambassadors in promoting agricultural cooperation between China and the Horn of Africa. The workshop, titled “China-Horn of Africa Agricultural Cooperation,” was organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China and aimed to enhance agricultural cooperation and foster sustainable partnerships between the two regions.
Xue Bing, Special Envoy for the Horn of Africa Countries at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, delivered a keynote address emphasizing China’s commitment to strengthening ties with Horn of Africa nations through agricultural cooperation.
Ambassador Awale Kullane leading the delegation of Horn of Africa Ambassadors, delivered a compelling speech highlighting the importance of strengthening agricultural cooperation between the Horn of Africa and China. He emphasized the need for increased exchanges between envoys of the Horn of Africa countries in China and representatives from the China-Africa Joint Center for Modern Agrotechnology Exchange, Demonstration, and Training. Ambassador Kullane also emphasized the pivotal role of experts in agricultural cooperation with African nations.
The workshop concluded with a wrap-up session, featuring a concluding statement by Xue Bing, Special Envoy for the Horn of Africa at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China. Mr. Xue Bing reiterated China’s commitment to supporting agricultural development in the Horn of Africa region and encouraged continued collaboration among all participants.
