Awdal youth take up arms to defend their land from Ethiopian invasion

Lughaya (SONNA):- The youth of Lughaya area in Awdal have taken up arms to resist the illegal transfer of their land to Ethiopia by the Somaliland administration. The youth have vowed to fight to the death to defend their ancestral land and the Somali Sea, which Ethiopia wants to exploit for its economic interests.

The youth have also appealed to the Somali people to join them in their struggle against the foreign occupation and the betrayal by the Somaliland authorities. They have accused the Somaliland administration of selling out the Somali nation and its resources to Ethiopia, a historical enemy of Somalia.

The youth’s uprising is part of a wider protest movement that has erupted in Awdal region and other parts of Somalia against Ethiopia’s attempt to claim part of the Somali Sea. The protesters have denounced the memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed between the Ethiopian government and the Somaliland administration, which grants Ethiopia access to the port of Berbera and a corridor to the Somali Sea.

The protesters have expressed their solidarity with the Somali federal government, which has rejected the MoU as a violation of Somalia’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and independence. They have also condemned the Somaliland administration for undermining the unity and stability of Somalia and for collaborating with Ethiopia, which has been accused of committing atrocities and human rights violations in the Somali region of Ethiopia and other neighboring countries.
