Somalia’s Independence Day Draws Widespread International Congratulations and Global Celebrations

Mogadishu, (SONNA) – Somalia’s 66th Independence Day celebrations received an overwhelming outpouring of congratulations from governments, international organizations, and senior officials around the world, reflecting broad support and goodwill toward the Somali people on one of the country’s most significant national occasions.
Messages of congratulations were shared by the United States, the United Kingdom, Finland, Serbia, China, Türkiye, Azerbaijan, India, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Egypt, Kenya, Canada, the African Union, IGAD, and many other friendly nations and international partners through their Ministries of Foreign Affairs, diplomatic missions, and senior government officials on official social media platforms.
In their messages, international partners extended their best wishes to the Government and people of the Federal Republic of Somalia, recognizing the country’s Independence Day while reaffirming their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations and cooperation in areas including peace, security, development, trade, and regional stability.
This year’s Independence Day was widely regarded as one of the largest and most vibrant commemorations in recent years.
