Somalia and Türkiye Boost Cooperation in Fisheries and Blue Economy

Mogadishu(SONNA)-The Minister of Fisheries and Blue Economy of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E. Ahmed Hassan Adam, welcomed a high-level delegation from the Turkish Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, led by Director General Turgay Türkyılmaz, on an official visit to the country.
The discussions focused on expanding technical and investment collaboration, highlighted by the official launch of joint meetings and technical committees dedicated to advancing priority initiatives in fisheries management. Both parties underscored the significance of mutual interests, technology transfer, and expertise exchange to promote the sustainable utilization of Somalia’s marine resources and accelerate the growth of its blue economy.
This high-level engagement reflects the deepening strategic partnership between Somalia and Türkiye, reinforcing bilateral ties focused on long-term economic development, investment, and sustainable marine resource management.
