Somalia, IFAD Discuss Agricultural Development and Climate Resilience

Mogadishu, (SONNA) — The Deputy Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E. Salah Ahmed Jama, received Naoufel Telahigue, IFAD Regional Director for the Middle East, North Africa, Europe and Central Asia.

The meeting focused on strengthening cooperation between Somalia and the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), particularly in agriculture and livestock development, food security, climate resilience, and support for farmers, pastoralists and vulnerable communities.

The two sides also discussed IFAD-funded development projects in Somalia, strengthening government institutional capacity and expanding investment in agriculture, water, markets and economic opportunities for pastoralist communities.
