New Commander of the Navy and Coast Guard Assumes Office

Mogadishu, (SONNA) — The new Commander of the Navy and Coast Guard, Colonel Mohamed Abdiqadir “Sharif,” officially took over the position today from the outgoing Commander, Brigadier General Abdiwahab.

The handover ceremony was attended by the Chairman of the Handover Committee, Major General Mohamud Sheikh Ali (“Dable Baylood”), as well as various officers from the leadership and commands of the Somali National Armed Forces.

During the ceremony, the Chairman of the Handover Committee commended the outgoing commander for his efforts and the work accomplished during his tenure, praising him for the diligent fulfillment of his duties. He also congratulated the new commander, wishing him success and expressing confidence that he would effectively carry out the responsibilities entrusted to him.
