Mogadishu(SONNA):AMISOM today hosted a virtual meeting with the Somali Civil Society Organizations.
The SRCC & Head of AMISOM, Amb. Francisco Madeira lauded the efforts and contributions of CSOs as key actors in Somalia.
Amb. Madeira emphasized the contributions of CSOs in Political engagement,Civic education,Peace building and Conflict resolution are important to the country’s stabilization process.
The Civil Society organizations revealed plans to set up a situation room to monitor how the elections unfold and provide timely reporting.
AMISOM Force Commander, Lt. Diomede Ndegeya reiterated AMISOM support in providing security at election centers, key population centres, supply routes, government and international partners’ installations.
