Beijing, China – Ambassador Awale Kullane, represented the Federal Republic of Somalia at the 16th Senior Officials’ Meeting of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) held in Beijing on October 23 and 24, 2023.
The FOCAC meeting, a vital platform for dialogue and collaboration between China and African nations, brought together senior officials and diplomats from various African countries. This gathering aimed to discuss and strategize on a range of topics related to the China-Africa partnership, promoting mutual development and cooperation.
Ambassador Kullane, actively participated in the discussions on enhancing economic ties, trade, and investment opportunities between China and Somalia. He emphasized the importance of strengthening bilateral relations and exploring new avenues of cooperation, especially in sectors such as infrastructure development, trade, and technology transfer.
During the event, the draft minutes of the meeting were shared, reflecting the anticipated progress of the work to be done during the Senior Officials’ Meeting. These minutes build on the previous agreements and commitments made in previous FOCAC meetings, and they outline the shared vision for future collaboration between China and African nations.
