Ambassador Awale Kullane Attends Closing Ceremony, Highlights Multilateralism

Beijing, July 12, 2024: The Federal Republic of Somalia’s Ambassador to China, His Excellency Awale Kullane, attended the closing ceremony of an important workshop in Beijing today. The meeting was hosted by Assistant Foreign Minister Miao Deyu. During the event, Ambassador Kullane delivered a compelling speech on the significance of multilateralism in today’s transformative and turbulent age.

In his address, Ambassador Kullane emphasized the crucial role that multilateralism plays in addressing global challenges and fostering international cooperation. He praised China for its willingness to share knowledge and experiences, particularly in the context of the United Nations Security Council. Ambassador Kullane stated, “China’s commitment to sharing its expertise and perspectives has been invaluable. We in Somalia deeply appreciate this spirit of collaboration and are committed to pursuing a pivotal role in reconciliation and global cooperation.”

He further underscored Somalia’s understanding of the complex challenges facing the international community. “Somalia recognizes the multifaceted nature of global issues and is dedicated to contributing meaningfully to international peace and security,” said Ambassador Kullane. “We are determined to play a vital role in reconciliation efforts and to enhance our participation in multilateral frameworks.”

The event, attended by representatives from various nations and international organizations, marked the conclusion of a series of discussions aimed at enhancing global collaboration and understanding. Ambassador Kullane’s speech resonated with many, highlighting Somalia’s commitment to active participation in the international arena.

The Embassy of Somalia in Beijing remains dedicated to strengthening diplomatic ties and fostering mutual cooperation with China and other countries. This event is a testament to the enduring partnership between Somalia and China, reflecting a shared vision for a peaceful and prosperous world.
