Mogadishu-(SONNA)-The Acting Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E. Mahdi Mohamed Guled met members of international Partners at his office in Mogadishu Tuesday, SONNA reported.
The meeting highlighted the current political and security situation in the country. Somalia is in a transitional period as federal member states and the federal government of Somalia have reached a consensus on the modality of the upcoming general elections.
As the country gears up for the general elections, there is a need to maintain the security of the country and be more vigilant as self interest groups might take advantage.
The International Partners and the Federal Government of Somalia discussed in depth how to prepare for the transition period. The officials discussed the security situation in the country, the economic situation and the political situation.
The Government detailed out the progress made in different areas reorganizing institutions, infrastructural developments and the fight against corruption.
