Cairo, (SONNA) – The Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Bashe Yusuf Ahmed, along with a delegation, participated in the 8th Conference of African Constitutional Court Presidents, currently taking place in Cairo, Egypt.
This year’s conference, themed The Role of Constitutional Review in Justice and Societal Development, has brought together representatives from 44 African countries, delegations from Arab states, and international organizations specializing in legal affairs, constitutional review, and social development.
Throughout the two-day event, participants will deliver speeches and engage in critical discussions surrounding the conference’s theme. The sessions aim to facilitate the exchange of experiences and address challenges faced by Supreme Courts and constitutional institutions across Africa.
The conference highlights the pivotal role of the judiciary in advancing constitutional frameworks and enhancing access to justice for communities. It serves as a platform to strengthen the capacity of African judicial systems in promoting governance, legal reforms, and societal progress.
