Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E Daud Aweis Jama received the Ambassador of Italy to Somalia, Pier Mario Dacco’ Coppi.
The Minister and the Ambassador discussed strengthening the bilateral relations of the two countries and cooperation in the fields of media, culture and tourism.
Minister Daud pointed out the importance of tourism and the plans of the government for promoting tourism by introducing an institution that teaches tourism, which is part of Somalia’s plans to revive the tourism sector and create employment for the youth.
Minister Jama briefed Ambassador Coppi on the situation of the country, including the security, politics, and the development of the social welfare of the Somali people.
The Italian Ambassador commended the improvements made by the Somali government and its people and said that Italy has been a great friend to Somalia and will take their role in the future developments and support Somalia’s sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity.
