A groundbreaking ceremony was held on Friday for the construction of new educational, medical and mosque facilities in El Hashi area under Adale District in Central Shabelle Region. The project is funded by the Ministry of Education in Hirshabeelle and supported by local officials, businessmen and community leaders.

The ceremony was attended by Adale District Governor, Muse Mohamed Fareey, Abdullahi Mohamud Bidaye, Prof. Mohamud Haji Ahmed, a chemistry professor at the University of Umda and the commander of the First Brigade of the Dervish Army, Abukar Abdullahi Raage, and other dignitaries.

Abdullahi Mohamud Bidaye, who spoke on behalf of the peacekeepers, highlighted the importance of these services for the community and the role they can play in the development of the community and that of Adala District. He thanked the donors and the contractors for their efforts and urged the residents to cooperate and benefit from the project.

The land for the public services was donated by Hashi Omar Hassan, a local elder who also dug a water well for the area. He expressed his gratitude to the government and the peacekeepers for bringing these services to his community and hoped that they would improve the living standards and security of the people.
