Mogadishu, Somalia, SONNA – The Infrastructure Development Parliamentary Committee summoned Somali Minister of Energy and Water, MP Jamal Taqal Abbas, and the Minister of State to its office for questioning today. The purpose of the meeting was to fulfill the Committee’s duties of accountability and monitoring, as directed by the Constitution and Parliamentary Rules of Procedure.

Committee Chairman MP Abdillahi Abdi Mohamed (Geelqaad), who chaired the meeting, thanked the minister for attending and responding to the Committee’s questions. He also informed the minister that future meetings would be open to the public and media, in the interest of transparency.

During the meeting, Committee members asked the minister important questions about the process for the appointment of the National Electricity Board and various ministry projects. They inquired about the progress of these initiatives and their impact on the nation’s infrastructure development.

The minister reported on the ministry’s accomplishments during his tenure and answered all questions to the satisfaction of the Committee. He provided detailed information about ongoing projects and their expected outcomes.

The meeting concluded with an emphasis on maintaining accountability and transparency in government operations. The Committee scheduled another meeting with the minister to continue their discussions and monitor progress.
