Mogadishu, Somalia, SONNA- The Ministry of Information, Culture, and Tourism launched a three-day training program for 30 female journalists in Mogadishu on Tuesday. The program aims to elevate the position of women in media management within the country.
Minister of Information, Culture, and Tourism Daud Aweis Jama inaugurated the program, which is attended by participants from private media, media organizations, Banadir regional media, and State media.
“With this training, we intend to benefit 30 female journalists,” Jama said. “Our goal is to reach 150 women in all regions of the country and train them to manage media organizations.”
Director General of the Ministry of Information, Culture, and Tourism Abdullahi Hayir Duale emphasized the importance of the training in promoting the role of women in journalism.
Farah Omar Nur, Secretary of Federation of Somali Journalists (FESOJ), praised the Ministry for conducting this special training and encouraging women to play a role in media management.
The training program will cover a range of topics, including media management, leadership, and ethics. The participants will also have the opportunity to network with other female journalists and learn from experienced professionals.
