Mogadishu, Somalia, SONNA-: Prime Minister Hamse Abdi Barre has urged the Independent Commission for the Review and Implementation of the Transitional Constitution to speed up its work on the country’s constitution.
Barre met with the commission on Monday and stressed the importance of completing the constitution as a priority for the government.
He said that the constitution is a key document for the country and that it is important to have a constitution that is agreed upon by all Somalis.
The Prime Minister also emphasized the importance of the commission’s work in ensuring that the constitution is inclusive and that it reflects the views of all Somalis.
He said that the commission has already made progress in its work and that he is confident that they will be able to complete the constitution in a timely manner.
The transitional constitution of Somalia has been in draft form for many years. The government has made it a priority to complete the constitution in order to provide the country with a stable and legitimate government.
The Prime Minister’s comments also indicate that the government is confident that the commission will be able to complete the constitution in a timely manner.
The completion of the constitution will be a major milestone for Somalia.
