Mogadishu(SONNA)-Somali National Army killed Al-Shabaab militant commander and his militias were killed after conducting operations in several locations between Km-60 and Shalanbod district lower Shabelle region, SONNA reported Monday.
Deputy Minister of Information of Somalia, Abdirahman Yusuf Adala told Somali National News Agency that the forces destroyed checkpoints in which the terrorists were taking extortion money on Sunday evening.
” SNA forces killed al-Shabaab terrorist commander and his militias, destroying checkpoints in which the terrorists were taking extortion money, the operations are aimed at opening key routes in the region”, Adala said.
The Somali National Army, local forces with the support of International Partners made tangible military progress against Al-Shabaab in Hiiraan and Middle Shabelle region under Hirshabelle State in Somalia and operations began in lower Shabelle region under Southwest State at moment.
