Mogadishu(SONNA)-Somalia’s Puntland State electoral team on Saturday held election of 5 seats for House of the People in Garawe town, the administrative capital of the state as part of resuming suspended elections and realizing the agreement on the electoral process reached early this month.
Members from Election Dispute Resolution Committee travelled to Garawe to observe the electoral process there today.
Between 3-9 January this month, the National Consultative Council agreed to resume the delayed electoral process from January 15th and conclude by 25 February 2022.
Somalia’s International Partners also urged the Prime Minister and regional leaders to focus on the rapid implementation of the agreed decision so that a credible electoral process can be held and concluded on time.
