Mogadishu(SONNA): Prime Minister of Federal Republic of Somalia H.E Mohamed Hussain Roble thanked the Unites Arab Emirates for their generous contribution after delivering 26 tons of Humanitarian aid shipment to Somalia to help those affected by the drought in Somalia, SONNA reported.
In a press conference at Mogadishu’s Airport, Prime Minister thanked the UAE Government for its continuous support to the people of Somalia
In addition, PM Roble said that the Somali Government is committed to strengthening the long-standing ties between the two brotherly countries.
Meanwhile, the Prime Minister gave a formal apology to the UAE government for seizing an Emirati plane that was carrying financial aid worth 9 Million US dollars, intended to be given to the Somali government, and pledged to assure the return of the confiscated money to the UAE as soon as possible
PM Roble was accompanied by the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and chairlady of National drought relief committee H.E Khadija Mohamed Diriye and other senior officials.
The occasion was attended by UAE Ambassador to Somalia and other governmental officials.
The aid shipment contained 26 tons of nutritious food and medical aid.
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has pledged to help Somalis affected by the recent drought in southern and central Somalia.
