SONNA – The Chairman of Electoral Commission of Somalia’s Puntland State, Guled Saleh and his Deputy Jama Hersi have resigned on Sunday with out further explanations. They led the team for 2 years and held municipal elections.
“This morning I submitted a letter of resignation to the members of the Puntland Transitional Electoral Commission, and I also shared a letter with the Speaker of Parliament resigning from the commission I had served for two and a half years,” said, Guled Salah Barre.
“I had planned to be part of the hard work of the senior members and staff of the committee for the Puntland community, but due to circumstances, I decided to vacate the position,” Guled said.
Guled thanked all his colleagues and supporters of the Puntland Democratic Process.
