Mogadishu(SONNA)-Somali National Army on Saturday conducted an operation against Al-Shabaab militants at an area about 25 Km north of Mahas district in Hiiraan region and pushed them back, SONNA reported.
SNA Commander in the region, Abdullahi Barre said the operation was meant to make safe passage to the main road linking Mahas and Beledweyne, the capital of Hiiraan, noting it was very successful.
There are no casualties reported during the military operation so far.
The operation comes as a herdsman was injured after he refused to pay Sakawat (alms) from the terrorist militant group of Al-Shabaab.
