Mogadishu(SONNA)-Dr. Hawa Abdi Dhiblawe, a veteran Somali medical doctor and human rights activist was on Wednesday passed away for certain disease in the capital Mogadishu, SONNA reported.
Deqo Mohamed, Dr. Dhiblawe’s daughter shared the news of her mother’s death on Facebook, telling that Somalia lost a hero, Dr. Hawa Abdi Dhiblawe and prayed to have her soul rest in Jannah.
Somali Government and People expressed deep sorrow over the death of doctor Hawa Abdi today.
Acting Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E. Mohamed Abdi Hayer ‘Mareyeye’ sent condolence message to the families, friends of the deceased Dr. Hawa Abdi as well as Somali people.
The deceased Dr. founded Hawa Abdi General Hospital and other health care facilities near Afgoye town in lower Shabelle region and in the Somali capital Mogadishu and served for mothers and Children’s care the past three decades.
Dr. Dhiblawe was born in Mogadishu’s Shangani district on May 17, 1947, She grew and studied Somali National University, went Soviet Union(Russia) for further studies in 1964 and left two daughters, Deqo Mohamed and Amina Mohamed who are also doctors at her foundation.
