Mogadishu(SONNA)-President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Mohamed Abdulahi Farmajo together with a large delegation on Sunday travelled to Djibouti to resume talks between the Federal Government of Somalia and Somaliland, SONNA reported.
Speaker of the House of the People, Mohamed Mursal Abdirahman and Prime Minister, Hassan Ali Kheyre are among high profile delegation accompanying the president.
“President Farmajo remains committed to all efforts that lead towards successful talks with Somaliland. This is in line with his reconciliatory approach and affirms his position to ensure the brotherhood that is the core fabric of our people is sustained”, Abdinur, Communication Director of the Somali Presidency said in a tweet.
Djiboutian President, Ismael Omar Gelle hosted the talks between the two sides, and said in tweet overnight that he would chair a meeting between President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo and President Moussa Bihi Abdi to follow up on the mediation efforts between the two leaders.
Somaliland President, Muse Bihi Abdi is also expected to reach Djibouti today.
The Ethiopian Prime Minister, Abiy Ahmed who was invited to the meeting, arrived in Djibouti this morning.
