The Awareness Campaign for Constitutional Review was concluded today at Mogadishu.This event lasted for three days with over 100 people from different sectors of the community participated in the meeting today.
This massive campaign aims to engage the Somali people in the constitutional review process and contribute their views as well as issues that require political discussions within the constitution in order to understand the content of the constitution.
During the meeting, the participants shared copies of constitutional review as well as resources for constitutional information, Moreover; in the meeting the experts suggested topics that needed political dialogue such as the status of the capital, justice and security, the financial system, elections and government structure. The Participants commended the Ministry of Constitutional affairs for their efforts for the constitutional awareness campaign sessions to give every Somali member the opportunity to include his or her constitutional review.
The ministry’s director of public awareness Abdikani Ali Adan, thanked the participants for attending the conference and for their positive dialogue regarding the topics that was presented at the conference.
The director stressed the purpose of this campaign is to raise public awareness in the context of constitutional review. He also noted that the campaign will continue for two months and will be held in all regions of the country to get views that reflect the interest of the Somali people in the constitutional review process. This campaign will run for two months and will be taking place in all over the states of the country to include all Somali people in the process of constitutional review, said director Abdikani Ali Adan.
