Mogadishu (SONNA)-The Union of OIC News Agencies (UNA), in cooperation with Jordan News Agency (Petra), is organizing a regional virtual workshop from 23 to 26 November, entitled: “News translation Arabic-English-Arabic”.
The workshop, which is administered by Jordanian media translation expert Inas Swaiss, aims to provide media translators in news agencies of OIC Member States with advanced skills in the professional translation of news articles.
The workshop is part of the outcomes of the UNA First Virtual Forum held on 16 May 2020 under the patronage of Saudi Acting Media Minister, Chairman of the UNA Executive Council Dr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Qasabi.
The Forum, which was held under the theme “The Role of News Agencies in Supporting Efforts to Confront Coronavirus Pandemic”, witnessed the launch of UNA Training Program that aims to develop the capabilities of 2,200 media professionals in the OIC countries.
