Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The Deputy Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E Salah Ahmed Jama opened the 2nd Somalia Development Forum (SDF2024), organized by Heritage Institute, today in Mogadishu.

Civic platforms are crucial for meaningful discussions that chart paths influencing sustainable economic growth and effective reforms.

“Regarding growth indicators, Somalia ranks among the lowest in the world. I am certain that at least 20,000 people have sought medical treatment abroad in the past three months,”  H.E Salah Jama, said.

“Somalia’s primary export is livestock, and Saudi Arabia is a major market for it. The Ministry of Commerce needs to find new markets,” he added.
