Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The State Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, H.E. Ali Mohamed Omar, met with Ambassador Mohamed El-Amine Souef, Special Representative of the Chairperson of the African Union Commission (SRCC) for Somalia and Head of AUSSOM, at the Ministry’s headquarters.
The discussions centered on the African Union Mission in Somalia (AUSSOM) and its progress toward fulfilling its mandate. Ambassador Souef highlighted the significance of the Ankara Declaration as a cornerstone of Somalia’s bilateral engagement with Ethiopia, emphasizing its critical role in advancing regional stability and cooperation.
Ambassador Souef commended Somalia’s leadership for its steadfast commitment to fostering peace, strengthening security, and driving economic growth, which align closely with the African Union’s overarching objectives.
