Mogadishu(SONNA)-Somalia’s Southwest State electoral team on Wednesday held election of 5 seats for House of the People in Baidoa town, the administrative capital of the state as part of resuming suspended elections and realizing the agreement on the electoral process reached early this month.
Sharif Abdalla and current Minister of Energy and Water Resources, Hassan Abdinur were among those re-elected for the seats of the House of People of Federal election there.
The Council agreed to resume the delayed electoral process from January 15th and conclude by 25 February 2022.
Somalia’s International Partners also urged the Prime Minister and regional leaders to focus on the rapid implementation of the agreed decision so that a credible electoral process can be held and concluded on time.
