MOGADISHU, SOMALIA – National Security Adviser Hussein Macalin announced that the Khawarij’s influence has significantly diminished following sustained losses that are deemed irrecoverable.
While speaking to the national media, Ma’alin conveyed a powerful message to the Al-Shabaab insurgents, urging them to capitulate to the Somali government’s authority. The government has extended an olive branch in the form of amnesty to those factions of the Khawarij who have misinterpreted religious teachings and are seeking a path back to society.
Over the past two years, Somali government forces, bolstered by the people’s uprising, have waged an intense campaign against the Khawarij, successfully dismantling the group’s stronghold. The National Security Adviser highlighted the president’s amnesty offer, encouraging Al-Shabaab members to disarm and reintegrate into the Somali community, contributing to the nation’s progress.
The Somali government remains steadfast in its commitment to eradicate insurgent groups and reestablish peace and order throughout the country, paving the way for a future defined by unity and development.
