Nairobi, SONNA  – The Minister of Finance of the Federal Government of Somalia, Bihi Iman Igeh, attended the 21st ministerial meeting of the Horn of Africa Initiative in Nairobi.

The quarterly gathering focused on reviewing and evaluating ongoing projects funded by various donors since 2019, ensuring transparency in their implementation. Additionally, the border cooperation system was discussed, with a report presented by the assigned committee following its approval in 2023. The forum also welcomed new donors committed to supporting the development goals of East African countries.

In his speech, Minister Igeh emphasized the importance of regional integration for Somalia’s economy, highlighting its potential to boost domestic production and overall economic growth. The Somali government anticipates significant economic benefits from the successful implementation of the Horn of Africa Cooperation Forum’s plans.
