Kampala, (SONNA) – The Auditor General of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Avv. Ahmed Gutale and a delegation he led participated in the 20th Afrosaie Governing Board Meeting and 2024 Strategic Review in Kampala, Uganda (6th – 9th May).
The theme of this year’s meeting is ‘VISION 2029’ and focuses on Statement of Additional Information (SAI) digitalization and enhancing audit impact through stakeholder engagement.
The Office of the Auditor General (OAGS) establishes a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Swedish National Audit Office.
The MoU was signed by the Auditor General of Somalia and the esteemed Auditor General of the Swedish NAO, Helena Lindberg, this 5-year agreement defines a mutual understanding for developing a cooperation framework to provide support to OAG Somalia in institutional capacity-building.
The signing ceremony, which took place during the 20th Afrosaie Governing Board Meeting and 2024 Strategic Review in Kampala, Uganda, was attended by high-level delegates from OAG Somalia and SAI Sweden as well as representatives from INTOSAI Development Initiative and Afrosaie.
This MoU will lay the groundwork for a comprehensive cooperation agreement which will define key support areas for the OAGS, particularly in the newly established Performance Audit function.
