Muscat (SONNA) — The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E. Abdisalam Abdi Ali, held talks in Muscat with Oman’s Minister of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, Said bin Hamoud Al Maawali, focusing on advancing bilateral cooperation in key sectors.
The meeting highlighted opportunities to enhance collaboration in transport, telecommunications, and ICT to improve connectivity, support Somalia’s digital transformation, and accelerate the development of economic infrastructure.
Both ministers reaffirmed their commitment to deepening institutional cooperation and expanding partnerships. Discussions also covered facilitating private sector participation and strengthening coordination among technical agencies to deliver tangible outcomes.
The engagement aligns with Somalia’s broader vision of positioning itself as a regional hub for trade, connectivity, and digital innovation.
