Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The Federal Government of Somalia has concluded technical discussions with the Republic of Egypt regarding the participation of Egyptian troops in the African Union-Somalia Mission (AUSSOM).
During the talks, Egypt reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Somalia’s efforts to combat terrorism. The Federal Government of Somalia highlighted Egypt’s potential role in eradicating extremist groups and expressed optimism about Egypt’s contribution, akin to other international partners assisting Somalia.
The collaboration underscores the strengthening ties between Somalia and Egypt in the fight against terrorism and in fostering regional stability.
