Muscat, (SONNA) — The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Abdisalam Abdi Ali, held talks in Muscat with senior leadership of the ASYAD Group on advancing development cooperation between the two countries.
The Minister and his delegation were received by ASYAD Group’s Chief Executive Officer, Omar bin Mahmoud Al-Mahrazi, alongside senior officials. Discussions focused on collaboration in port development, integrated logistics, and investment aligned with Somalia’s economic priorities.
Both sides also explored practical opportunities to enhance port efficiency, strengthen trade connectivity, and leverage Somalia’s maritime potential, given its strategic location linking the Red Sea, the Gulf, and East Africa.
The ASYAD Group expressed readiness to engage in technical cooperation and structured investment frameworks.
The meeting reflects Somalia’s ongoing efforts to position itself as a competitive regional maritime hub, translating strategic partnerships into tangible progress in infrastructure development and economic growth, in line with its Development Diplomacy agenda.
