Dar es Salam, SONNA – Speaking at the African Human Capital Heads of State Summit in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, Somali Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre emphasized the importance his government places on education. Despite facing several challenges, including limited resources and ongoing conflict, the government has invested heavily in education, recruiting 3000 new teachers and improving the quality of education in the country.

Accompanying the Prime Minister at the summit were several members of his delegation, including the Minister of Education, Culture and Higher Education, Farah Sheikh Abdulkadir, the Minister of Health and Human Services, Dr. Ali Haji Adan, and the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Dr. Mohamed Elmi Ibrahim.

The African Human Capital Heads of State Summit brings together leaders from across the continent to discuss strategies for improving education and human development. The summit provides a platform for sharing best practices and exploring new approaches to addressing the challenges facing education in Africa.

The Somali government’s investment in education demonstrates its commitment to building a brighter future for its citizens. By improving access to quality education, the government is laying the foundation for long-term economic growth and social development.
