Mogadishu(SONNA)-President of the Federal Government of Somalia, H. E. Hassan Sh. Mohamud on Wednesday received credentials from the new Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Somalia, Mr. Wang Yu at the Presidential Palace, Villa Somalia during a formal ceremony.
President Mohamud applauded the new Chinese Ambassador’s willingness to strengthen the relation between Somalia and China, indicating the importance of the strategic cooperation between the two nations in areas of economic development, trade and security.
The Ambassador thanked the people and Government of Somalia for the warm welcome and conveyed cordial greetings from President Xi Jinping to President Mohamud and commended the progress made by Somalia in peace and security as well as other achievements.
Ambassador Wang also expressed China’s readiness to work jointly with Somalia to ride the momentum of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) summit and further implement the consensus reached by the two countries’ heads of state to strengthen the mutually beneficial cooperation and traditional friendship, bringing China-Somalia relationship to new heights.
” This will create new opportunities and open new prospects for China-African and China-Somalia win-win cooperation”, Yu added.
