Washington DC, (SONNA)-: Somali State Minister for Foreign Affairs Ali Omar and the National Security Advisor Husein Moalim Ali, On Tuesday met with Somalia’s key partners Qatar, Turkey, the UAE, the UK, US and they issued a joint statement following their meeting in Washington, D.C.
A Joint Statement was released by Qatar, Somalia, Türkiye, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, and the United States of America.
They expressed their support for Somalia’s efforts in state-building, security, development, and humanitarian priorities.
They discussed ways to improve Somalia’s fight against al-Shabaab and promote political reconciliation, including finalizing the constitution.
The partners also called for an end to the conflict in and around Las’anod and expressed concern over the ongoing humanitarian crisis caused by drought. They plan to meet again in Doha, Qatar, within the next three months to review progress.
