Somali National Army foils terrorist attacks at SNA bases in Afmadow

Mogadishu(SONNA)-Somali National Army on Saturday morning foiled two terrorist car bomb attacks at SNA bases in the east of Afmadow town in Lower Jubba region in south of the country.

Ali Mohamed Mohamud (Bogmadow),SNA Commander for the 43rd Division in Lower region, said that the forces killed over 10 terrorist militant group of Al-Shabaab before they reach SNA and Jubaland State’s Dervish forces bases in town.

The Commander said that the terrorist fighters were intending to carry out two suicide car bomb attacks, but the forces took swift action against them as they had an intelligence reports of possible attacks.

He added that three SNA soldiers sustained light injuries during the operation.

This comes hours after 117 Al-Shabaab terrorists were killed in an operation carried out by the Somali National Army and Galmudug State forces, with the support of airstrike from international partners in Mudug region.
