Awdheegle, Somalia (SONNA): The Somali National Army’s elite Gorgor and October 14 battalions successfully targeted and eliminated key members of the Khawarij militant group in a decisive and meticulously planned operation. The operation took place in the Jowhar-Awdheegle area, approximately 5 kilometers from Awdheegle district.
The targeted operation was aimed at a location where the Khawarij militants had convened for strategic meetings and to orchestrate attacks against innocent Somali civilians. The joint effort by the 175th Gorgor Brigade and the 146th October 14 Brigade resulted in significant losses for the terrorist group, disrupting their operations and leadership.
